Wheel thrown stoneware mug featuring a hand painted image of black eyed susan flowers. Each mug is one of a kind and unique.
This mug was made using a speckled stoneware clay. The outside was left partially unglazed to showcase the beautiful contrast between the bright underglazes and the speckled clay. The rim and handle has been glazed in an anemone-made glossy white for a smooth touch to the hand and lip.
Each piece is one of a kind and made by hand. This mug began as a humble ball of clay that has been shaped on the wheel, trimmed, fired, hand painted, waxed, glazed and then fired again.
Measures approximately 4 inches tall x 5 inches wide
Holds approximately 18 oz
Care: dishwasher and microwave safe, although hand washing is recommended to extend the life of your ceramics.
Why handmade? For me, handmade pottery is a representation of slow living and minimalism. Forged from natural materials and shaped by the hands of the maker, each vessel reminds us to think about the origin of the piece and how it came to be in our hands.
